Classic Ruger Model 44 semi-automatic Carbine chambered in .44 Magnum, serial number 100-13230, dating to approximately 1970 production and presented in good working condition.
The original Ruger .44 Carbine is one of the company’s most distinctive vintage sporting rifles. Introduced during the early years of Sturm, Ruger & Co., the Model 44 combines compact proportions, traditional American walnut furniture, and a powerful centerfire chambering in an unusually handy semi-automatic package.
Serial number 100-13230 falls within Ruger’s published 1970 serial-number range, making this an early 100-prefix example.
Unlike the later rotary-magazine Deerfield rifles, this original Model 44 uses an internal tubular magazine housed within the stock and a gas-operated semi-automatic action with a rotating bolt.
This example is presented in good working condition. The action is represented as functional, while the rifle may display normal cosmetic wear consistent with its age and previous sporting use, including handling marks, finish wear, stock scratches, thinning bluing, or other signs of honest field use.
The combination of compact dimensions, .44 Magnum chambering, walnut stock, vintage Ruger construction, and discontinued production has made original Model 44 Carbines increasingly desirable among Ruger collectors and enthusiasts.
A solid example for the customer looking for a functional vintage Ruger sporting rifle with genuine collector appeal without the premium associated with mint or new-in-box examples.
