The SIG Sauer P230 SL is a compact, all-stainless DA/SA semi-automatic pistol chambered in .380 ACP, built in Germany and widely regarded as one of SIG Sauer’s classic concealed-carry handguns. The “SL” designation refers to the stainless steel version, which gives the pistol a little more weight than the alloy-frame P230 and helps soften felt recoil. The P230 series was produced from 1977 to 1996 before being replaced by the P232, and it remains desirable today as both a shooter and collector piece.
The P230 SL features a 3.6-inch barrel, 7+1 capacity in .380 ACP, fixed barrel blowback operation, decocking lever, and slim single-stack profile that made it a popular choice for discreet carry. It has classic SIG styling with fixed sights, smooth lines, and strong overall fit and finish. Excellent-condition examples are especially appealing because many surviving pistols show carry wear, and the stainless version tends to draw extra attention from collectors and buyers looking for an older German-made SIG.
