Used Spanish Kerr-Style Revolver in .44 Cal. Read more.
This spanish revolver in the style of a Kerr's Patent Revolver was converted into .44 Cal cartridge early in it's life. These were originally produced in the 1860s, probably about 1864, in the gun-making regions of Eibar and Trubia, Spain. Originally Spain had sought these in France and Belgium, but with James Kerr's Patent not present in Spain, the decision was made to have the revolvers made locally. At the time the London Armoury Company, where Kerr was shop superintendent, was involved in the highly lucrative Confederate Trade, sending many revolvers and other arms to the Rebel States through the Birmingham Small Arms Trade.
